How To Earn an CIPS Designation

Follow the steps below to earn an Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation.

Step 1 - Complete two core CIPS courses

All CIPS applicants must complete two required courses before applying. Champions School of Real Estate offers both of these courses in the virtual classroom.

  • Global Real Estate (Local Markets)
  • Global Real Estate (Transaction Tools)
Step 2 - Complete three elective CIPS courses

Champions School of Real Estate offers three courses that will satisfy the CIPS Designation elective requirements:

  • The Americas and International Real Estate
  • Europe and International Real Estate
  • Asia/Pacific and International Real Estate
Step 3 - Maintain good standing as a member of the National Association of REALTORS®

All CIPS applicants must be active members of NAR and remain in good standing with organization. In order to maintain the CIPS designation, annual dues must be paid to the NAR. The first year's dues will be prorated.

Step 4 - File your U.S. CIPS application form with NAR and pay the one-time application fee

Once all of the education and membership requirements are satisfied, file your CIPS application with NAR and pay the one-time application fee to receive the designation. If you are ready to file, you can find the application form here.
